Iowa School Business Management Academy
Audience
Iowa school business officials and superintendents
Description
The Iowa School Business Management Academy is a four-year program to provide a universal foundation in all aspects of school business. It is comprised of 72 hours of required classwork and 12 hours of elective sessions. The content has been recently correlated to the ASBO International Standards for School Business Management and involves legal, financial, accounting and support/ancillary area topics.
Standards for School Leaders
- 3-Management
- 5-Ethics
- 6-Societal Context
Intended outcomes
The intended outcome is to provide participants with a foundational basis to understand all primary elements of school business operations. This is critical because there is no formal training program in Iowa to prepare individuals to efficiently and effectively manage the business operations of Iowa's public schools.
Evaluation
Evaluation is addressed through participant post session evaluations and an optional and voluntary content assessment processed via WebCT (now owned by Blackboard).
